"Site Plan application for The Quad Phase 2, private student housing development. Two buildings are proposed fronting The Pond Road. Building C3 is 9,603 m2 gfa with 249 beds contained within 156 units and including 599 m2 of ground floor retail. Building C4 is 17,396 m2 gfa with 457 beds contained within 279 units and including 684 m2 of ground floor retail. The total gfa is 26,998 m2, including 1,283 m2 of retail and 435 residential units (containing 706 beds)."

Hold on...........what's with those streetlights?

The end fixture is pseudo-Victorian; the Bracket is Deco, the pole a shape you would never seen in a Victorian done in a colour you would never seen in Deco, all next to a building with a modern design.

As far as university architecture goes, student residences always seem to get the short end of the stick. Still, these look decent.

As a survivor of Waterloo's first year residence experience I can concur. Not that the newer purpose built off campus student housing near the University gets anymore inspiring though.
