I personally think the bigger aesthetic problem are the brutalist apartments next to those office buildings:

Maybe a paint job could make them less oppressive?

I'm guessing you haven't been in the area at all lately because these apartments have actually gone an extensive renovation with reclad and new balcony glass! 100% better than that garbage in the google pic.

It's too bad RioCan scrapped the proposal to expand and renovate the office towers. Not only would it improve the look of the area, it would increase and improve the commercial space in this area.

Is that official? I thought they were still proceeding?

It is not official ... it is just on hold till they find tenants ... which may be never ; - )

I guess I missed that, but I am in the area pretty much every day. I'll take another look.

huh are you kidding ? It looks great ... what is horrible about it ?

I have, hmm the oppisite concern ... it seems like they spent so much money on this yet I don't really see the retail base changing (and there seems to be a lot for lease), so what did they accomplish by all this .. but I love it nonethless

If it's going to be a strip club, then I suppose it'll be fine (perhaps this is where Jilly's is relocating? )

It's cheap...it's tacky...and it's completely dated (opaque back-lit glass with colour-changing LED's...com'on)

I preferred the original 70's tackiness...there used to be a Big Steel Man where the Urban Outfitters is now. I used to get all my Pierre Cardin casual wear there circa 1981. ha ha
