I don't find it exactly offensive. It's more like it's drably anonymous-looking - even for its height. It checks off a lot of contemporary design boxes but doesn't have a whole lot of character either.

Yeah, i don't know about everyone?, it seems like it's always the same individuals that just don't like much of what's getting built around town
Noticed the same thing, quite often same individuals also do 180 or even 360 over some designs.
My guess is these people concentrate on their myopic views, noticing half finished details and with buzzwords like "grey spandrell!!" everything is clear to them.
I might be wrong, but it seems that there are also opposing loyalties towards certain architectural powerhouses, fighting some kind of hybrid turf wars on this forum.
:))

I really dont have much hope for this thing when the podium of this tower is looking absolutely horrific. Although, yes it is not complete, there is nothing that makes it standout from the rest of the tower and the whole thing just looks like an afterthought.

I will give them credit for the balconies since one can actually see the clear sharp differences in colour between the white and black (unlike a project with similarly designed balconies- Jade), but asides from that this tower just looks like the same of what we see from Aura's lower levels.

To the completely uninitiated - this is not simply a square box - of which there are plenty that I find boring as hell. What is it that offends everyone so strongly? Personally, I could point to other buildings that I think are more offensive.

The massing is the most simplistic way to look at architecture. It doesn't take into account just one decorative detail. I'm not going to waste much of my time explaining. I'm just going to say the details and finer details are horribly executed with this very tall tower in the heart of downtown. Spandrel, mullions, odd sized unitized panels which aren't by design. IMO, the concept design is also garbage. It would still end up a tall, mediocre tower in the heart of downtown even with the best execution of higher quality materials. (ex. full height glazing in the window wall and of a consistent size )
