That's the standard design used in all their flagship downtown stores (starting with MLG).
I was unaware of that The one I use doesn't have that, as I assume now it's probably not a flagship...

...either way though, sorry for getting overly excited for something that was standard, and thus mundane. :(

You are prone to unnecessary apologies!

You're a positive contributor here!

Smile! If people expound on your posts, it need not be seen as critical; and if it is, not personal.

Unless it is; in which case '42' will take care of that for you.

Off the top of my head, the Loblaws to have received this decorative scheme thus far are:

Maple Leaf Gardens
Queen/Portland
Leslie/Lake Shore
Yonge/St. Clair
Eglinton/Lillian
Forest Hill

That doesn't include the City Markets which have a similar scheme.

I would expect redeveloped versions of

Victoria Park/Musgrave
Danforth/Broadview
Bloor/Dundas West to get the same scheme.

Haven't been to Queen's Quay in a while not sure if it has gotten that treatment; if not, a replacement store will.

Same would apply to the North York (Empress location)

Last I visited the Queen's Quay/Lower Jarvis location (probably early 2020, pre-pandemic), it still looked like it hadn't been touched since circa 2004.

Redevelopment plans are afoot.

I wasn't sure what life expectancy they expected from the store.

Typically, if you can get 10 years, and you perform well, you get the newest iteration of store look.

But that's not always true for a host of reasons.

I personally miss the original iteration of Queen's Quay when it had Movenpick in it.

I love cooking, but there's something be said for picking up Rosti and Mushrooms for brunch while shopping.

Snuck in aside, dinner was Beef Brisket, braised in 1L of Red Wine, 500ml of Beef stock, tomato paste, garlic, onion, carrot, and tons of fresh Rosemary.

It braised for 3hrs until it fell off the bone...............

Served around roasted garlic mashed potato, folded w/butter and chives, with the reduced braising liquid drizzled over the top.

That and an exquisite glass of Amarone.................sigh.

Why thank you! I'm not sure half the time as I am oft shooting in the dark and hoping I am somewhat correct. But I'll take at least in spirit I'm on the right track with my posting etiquette. /bows

And Forest Hill!? Thus I'll amend my correction to, "The one I used I haven't been there in a very long while because a Metro is a lot closer to me, so I wouldn't of known!" >.<

The massive store at Burnhamthorpe and East Mall also has this lovely orange and black colour scheme.

The location at Dundas and Scarlett was also renovated to look this way earlier this summer. It's so much better now.

I would not expect Loblaws to invest in a similar upgrade for Bloor/Dundas West given the huge redevelopment plan there. Ditto Humbertown, another awful store.

Does anyone know the potential uses for the pods? They are looking pretty nice. I think Red Mars mentioned one of them may be an LCBO (that would be sweet!) but I have not heard anything else. There looks to be about 5 or 6 pods ranging in various sizes. I wasn't sure if they would be used for permanent retail, pop-up shops or something else related to future Bentway developments?

One is indeed an LCBO.
