Therion,
"The site looks excavated but nothing is going on. No crane. What are they waiting for?"

I think you may be looking at the excavation for Concord Adex's Newton project, which is immediately north of the Loblaws site, and has been completely excavated, awaiting the start of construction, for a number of weeks now.

Is there a separate thread for the condos vs the retail building?

Personal bugbear: they're calling the condos "The Lakeshore". One word although it's Lake Shore Blvd. And seriously? They couldn't come up with something more inspiring than that? I heard someone the other day call it the laziest marketing ever. http://thelakeshorevip.com/floorplans/

We're not settled yet on whether the condos will have a separate thread. All the marketing material I've seen says LakeShore Towers.

It's all caps in the logo, but yes, when I went back to read some of the text, that is indeed how they are spelling it. I still think it's uninspired :)

Wouldn't be surprised if the name was chosen to attract foreign buyers. I think they've nearly given up on local purchasers. To someone in Hong Kong who isn't familiar with Toronto, a building called the LakeShore gives them a sense of place.

I'm very confused. Our the bricks being cleaned or removed or both? If removed, why? And would they really rebuild it with the same bricks? I don't get it.

From Reddit:

Removed and cleaned. They have to be removed or they will be destroyed when the building is taken down. When there is a new building, the old bricks will be put on it, in the same place. They are all being catalogued
