It’s looking good. One of the few cases where the actual building looks better than the renderings and model.

I don't know about that - it is relatively good, but not nearly as sublimed as the curved glass in the renderings that we just know we weren't going to get.

The glass is beautiful on this building, but this building and others cropping up in the area is shifting the feel to be more monolithic rather than fine-grained. I hope we can find the right balance between the fine-grained storefronts along Yonge and these new developments. I hope we have some people working on the human scale design integration of these new developments into the fabric of this area. For example, all of the population moving into this area could support a series of pedestrian lanes behind Yonge St, offering up cafes, restaurants, and small stores away from the traffic.

The road surface at the intersection of Yonge and Wellesley is in atrocious condition, why doesn't the city have a requirement that these developers contribute something to improving the streetscape on which their buildings go up and are even named after?

The developers give the city more than enough $$$. It's up to the city to allocate it to these kinds of repairs....as I understand it.

Not impressed by the materialization of so much spandrel window wall on the tower or the lifelessness of the frosted glass podium - it all make the building feel a bit too soulless for me in an area where apathetic new builds have sucked out what character this neighbourhood once had. I still grieve for the former Sutton Place Hotel / now Frankenstein's monster.

I am leaning towards Stanley down the street on Church becoming the better looking building once all is said and done.

Really? Have you seen this up close? It is really nice the podium meets the street as well as the future park very nicely, and it is unique to the area which to me gives it charm.
What do you define as character?

I have to disagree - especially Stanley condo is a complete disgrace in architects/designer community -they literally copy and pasted the tower of 11 wellesley on its boxy podium .
