Revitalizing St. Andrew’s Playground

Expanding our existing green spaces downtown is critical, which is why I am thrilled that we are moving ahead with work on the St. Andrew’s Playground revitalization and expansion.

Currently undergoing an Environmental Assessment, the parking lot on the west of the playground will become part of the park and a new dogs-off-leash area will be constructed in the new portion of the park in 2021. Public consultation and design work will happen this fall, with construction to begin next year. Stay tuned for more details!

No. There will be a long mezzanine north of the main “nave” of the space (behind the plastic sheeting in the pic above) and a smaller one just inside the Brant Street entrance (last pic) which will accommodate a two-storey restaurant.

I'm very excited about this project. Something about it is very London-esque + the fact that it will reinvigorate the park and better tie together King and Queen West

Plus the new pool will be a great neighbourhood amenity. Expanded park, new food hall, the Y, and some pretty nice architecture to boot.
