Not sure how real this is given current code limitations on high rise wood but it looks like U of T is trying to get on the bandwagon with George Brown (the Arbour) and propose a tall wood concept.

Will contain Rotman Executive Programs, the Munk School of Global Affairs and the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education.

Not buying.

Not saying its not a real proposal.

Only that it shouldn't be.

All for wood buildings, all for density, that proposal (not great in its own right) looks completely jarring and provides a very awkward juxtaposition to Munk.

Complete re-think in order.

Looks amazing, much better than the other tower that was proposed to be built there along with the Goldring Centre. Love the design and relationship between the neighboring Goldring Centre design and the soft color vibe of the heritage Munk School building. Hopefully they incorporate a proper entrance for Goldring Centre, or maybe even a shared lobby space.

Wait.. or was the original tower to Goldring Centre proposed to the South of it where the parking lot (former tennis court) is?

If yes, then even better since it leads to a denser campus especially around St. George and Bloor which can definitely accommodate more people and development.

The existing gym building looks great from the street. The construction of anything that close would be a huge mess in the area.
