There was a remark that the Finch West Station includes some Finch West LRT work as well.

With construction for the Finch West LRT to start in 2018, likely the Finch West Station will not be "finished" because they will continue construction, but as a "Finch West LRT" project.

With construction of the Line 1 extension almost finished, they'll be (if not already) start on construction of the Finch West LRT.

Makes you wonder sometimes, that if it takes just a few months to accomplish so much, why must they always strench time lines for projects this magnitude?

It's what underground that takes the time. Then one can look at the top and shake their head why it taken this long. It was a poor contractor who has screw up sooooo many project the last few years that put this one months behind schedule, considering it should be in TTC control now.

The project is under TTC control. That's been one of the big criticisms of the TYSSE project - keeping projects under municipal control makes it easier for costs to rise and delays to pile on. Meanwhile the Eglinton Crosstown project (where one contractor takes on the entire project and pays penalties if they open late) is coming in under budget and already has a planned opening day (sometime in late-September 2021).

@amnesiajune - what @drum118 is referring to is that the contractor should have turned over the site to its owner - the TTC. At this point, they have not proceeded far enough so that the control - on a day to day basis - remains with the contractor. No sign off yet. Who is managing this project is a different issue.

It's still early on and nothing has risen from the ground yet, the underground work is easy, as was said before.
