This was reviewed by the Vaughan Design Review Panel in February. Can't find any images, but it appears to be a joint venture between Centrecourt and Calloway REIT. Sales look like they will launch soon.

This is supposedly located directly to the east of the Wal-Mart, on the southeast corner of Portage Parkway and Buttermill Avenue.

Apparently two 35 floor towers with 700 units.

Mods, please change the title to "Transit City Condos", 1 tower with 55s.

Transit City is a pretty stupid name too.

I guess it's still better than original.

I think they are trying to push the neighbourhood name as Smartcentre Place though.

They boast that they will have a Buca restaurant in the condo. Is that really a selling point?

The rendering is so inaccurate. It makes it look like KPMG tower is right on Hwy 7, it's not. In its place is the old Future Shop/Home outfitters building.
Oh and the YRT terminal will not see any Viva buses. I guess perhaps Viva Silver will get in there, but not before 2019. Viva purple will definitely stay on Hwy 7.
The article mentions the terminal as "Viva Terminal", but in fact it's a YRT terminal. Who needs the YRT/Subway anyway, when there's a 7 storey massive parking garage right next door?
At least the tower has some kind of architecture, some is better than none.

The rendering is pretty funny the more and more you analyze it.

They wiped out the Walmart (which I assume is to the right?) but they still show the roof-top Mechanical equipment of the across the street industrial building.

I also love how they managed to work in the CN tower and downtown Toronoto off in the distance.

Vaughan: where SmartCentre is a landmark.

Ours is far less graceful, but I wonder how different it is from the rest of history where areas get named after their former landowners (i.e. Stuyvesant Park) or after a local business/feature (i.e. Haymarket)?
