Well, at least it's a good place to have a smoke with your dog. Well, not in that way.

Why is that "Yuck"?Yuck!
It's a wordmark! Do people want blank surfaces throughout the entire city instead?
I have no problem with the marking, would have preferred more recognizable branding or something more artistic than the massive serifed TOOR. It’s bland and jarring in my opinion.Although this is not branded as a Hyatt (as originally intended), it's still managed by Hyatt. Toor Hotel - JdV by Hyatt is the official name.
How does branding become recognizable if it's not allowed to first be created?I have no problem with the marking, would have preferred more recognizable branding or something more artistic than the massive serifed TOOR. It’s bland and jarring in my opinion.
That question makes no sense in the response. >.<How does branding become recognizable if it's not allowed to first be created?
Ah, so that's what JdV stands for. I think I heard some years ago they were no longer independent (although couldn't remember who bought them). I stayed at a Joie de Vivre hotel in SF over a decade ago, when they were still independent - it was great, kind of affordable luxury boutique hotel.I didn't realize that Joie de Vivre had become a Hyatt brand -- or that this would be one! Great to have one in Toronto.
