It did get its re-zoning approved. If they're not big, they may just be waiting for a better moment if they want to do it themselves. Or, they could be waiting for whatever they think the right moment to sell will be. Maybe they consider the strip undervalued now. Otherwise, if they're just plain broke, you'd think they'd sell.

I noticed a sign up from this group on the property for http://www.qmenv.com. Looks like they do demolition (which would seem premature at this point) and environmental clean up (which would make sense considering it used to be a garage). Does anyone know what is going on?
 
There does not appear to be a site plan application for the site. The land is owned by the Ison family, who also own and operate Toronto Honda to the east. Now that it is rezoned for an 8-storey condo and the land is that much more valuable, they might be biding their time.

The last thing this stretch of the Danforth needs is land speculators.
