Does anyone else think that Victoria Square sucks? It looks so plain and boring. Bland. I'd rather see something flash and fun.

I actually quite like Victoria Square.

There's also a place called Victoria Memorial Square in the neighbourhood, perhaps adding to the confusion. It's a park that's the site of Toronto's first European cemetery. There are still hundreds of graves on site.

So, they're tearing stuff down--that's great. Anyone with info on if/when they start excavation? Do they have to wait for a tenant for the office component? Of all the proposed projects in the city, this and 45 Bay are the ones I'm most champing at the bit to see started.

My understanding is that they tentatively have a tenant (heh) for the office building, and will start construction immediately after demolition. They are going to dig out the whole site, build the mall and office building, then let Tridel build the condo buildings as they want. Given the builder, the location, and the project, I imagine they'll sell like hotcakes.

How will they build the mall before the condos? Doesn't the mall meander through a corridor that is the bases/podiums of those condo buildings? Maybe you're talking about a part of the mall within the office tower?
