It is! My little harping point here is only that Sam chose to give a public date for the pour, a decision entirely his; and he was not only off on that date, but by more than a week it would seem.

I will never understand people's desire to stick their feet in their mouths. These things do happen from time to time to us all; but this really does fall under the 'easily prevented' tab.

"Under promise, over deliver" is a fine motto.

Google has opened their first retail store in New York City and it's quite beautiful, maybe they will take the second retail unit! Would make sense to move next to your biggest competitor.

Also when complete I wonder what the weight of just the transfer slab alone would weigh? Between all the rebar and the concrete at that thickness..... must be insane!

Based on these renderings, the second retail unit would be on Yonge Street, directly south of the Apple unit. This historic facades are being retained, but they have free reign over the interior. And eyeballing, it looks like this floorspace of this unit could be as big or bigger than the Apple Store, depending on how it's configured (eg, number of floors).

This could be a very nice retail space. Mizrahi is likely targeting another upscale, flagship-style store for this unit. Finding that tenant might be difficult, given how disconnected from Yorkville this location is, but I'll remain optimistic.

If it materializes, this would be the first high-end retailer fronting Yonge Street. That actually significant in that it would likely attract other high-end retailers to Yonge Street; particularly to the retail units in the buildings directly south..

On a more serious note - it is similar to what Fruitco did at some of the other stores (e.g. Chicago Michgan Ave, etc) - and it only looks thin relative to everything else.

I prefer vibranium. As you could levitate the mezzanine in question with it without changing anything on the official plans...
