It's quite simple - don't break any rules and the city won't be able to do anything to them.

The City didn't pull any shenanigans and council literally just approved dozens of developments this week and not one single refusal.
Please don't post accusations with no evidence to back it up.

It's not shenanigans when it stops the building from collapsing on top of people down the road, for example. With something that big, heavy, complicated and resource sucking needs accountability...and this why the city has to step in sometimes when things are not going to regulations.

Nor is our local government made of Nimby's who just want a bungalow state. This building alone is a demonstration among too many to count to that.

I would be interested in knowing how so much steel encased in concrete won't cause cracking due to seasonal thermal expansion (That's a lot of steel). I know pre fab concrete beams with a heavy amount of rebar or cable often have the steel under tension when the concrete sets. Possibly here the exothermic action of the concrete setting keeps the steel hotter than anything expected during building life conditions so that the column is in a natural state of compression? If anyone has detailed knowledge on the subject. thanks
