Vaughan The Met | 116.43m | 35s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

The soon to be Vaughan subway station is already spurring development nearby.
This project is a prime example, and I am sure there will be more.

With the opening of the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension now just a few months away, development activity is heating up around the line's new terminus at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. One of the residential developments that's going to help make the area a new downtown is Plaza and Berkeley's The Met, with 500 new homes on Jane Street just north of Highway 7.

On Monday, crews fenced off the empty field at the southwest corner of Jane and Portage and they're working hard clearing off the topsoil. Does anyone know what project is happening there? There is no advertising there, save for a sign advertising Transit City, which is the project going up between the Wal-Mart and the regional bus terminal, not this field.

Iron Mountain I believe. A lot of shredding going on in there.

That and a lot of paper in boxes. Regulations demand files to be kept 7 years before they are destroyed. It's much cheaper to outsource it to Iron Mountain than to keep on site in a Class A office tower. Iron Mountain also has a monopoly for shredding and document storage. (up to the point the government would allow a monopoly to exist)
