Interesting, when I was on a tour of the building in the summer, they told us that they normally build their wood buildings with no tenants signed up and find they attract them only after people see the space. This is exactly the kind of event where potential tenants can see and rave about the space and, maybe, then sign leases.Interesting/good news! FAT (Fashion Art Toronto) is using 20,000sf of space here for its events in November. While not a tenant it greatly increases the use at this end of QQE.

The difference between Therme and The Jewel@Changi Airport, Singapore (pictured above) is that the latter is free for everyone to enjoy (no admission fee). You’re right, though, it could never be built in Toronto, because the City will never spend that much money to build something so extravagant. Remember the uproar over pink umbrellas at Sugar Beach? That’s a drop in the ocean compared to the cost of building something like The Jewel. This could never be built in Toronto. Just look all the hate the spa say Ontario Place is getting.
Anyone have any insight on how the GB residency in Canary has been doing? Generally feels dead over there. Not sure if I expected a lot of street activity, but it’s always been quiet.if office doesn’t pan out this would be a good spot for a George brown residence.
