I know womens sports is not a big appeal for most Toronto is the first Canadian team in the Nwhl which is a big step for womens hockey in Canada and yes players are paid.

There better be more coverage of the Toronto Six, as well as coverage of female sports leagues and/or female athletes themselves.

Look at any sports sections of mainstream newspapers, even from progressive newspapers. Over 95% of the sports articles cover sports leagues with only male athletes and/or male athletes themselves.

There was a gender egalitarian who took a sports section from the New York Times (centre-left) and cut out all articles pertaining to sports leagues with only male athletes and/or male athletes themselves and found the sports section to be extremely skeletal afterwards.

There needs to be better media coverage the team and league needs to get tons of media attention.
