The purpose and effect of the proposed amendment is to rezone the subject properties from the Core Commercial “C1” to the Core Commercial Exception “C1*XX”. The purpose of the rezoning is to set site-specific zone standards in order to permit the development of a 15-storey mixed-use building with 191 residential units, 400m2 of commercial space, and four (4) levels of underground parking.
It appears the firms behind Holland Haus just down the road wants to go even higher. This is the NE corner of Holland Street West and Church Street, so within downtown but a VERY ballsy proposal. Information is scarce, but I did see it described as "coming soon" on the Isroc website.
Yesterday (I did not realize at the time that 23 Church was included, and now I'm back in Barrie):
Interestingly, the zoning application notice lists the addresses as 73 & 79 Holland Street West and 23 Church Street, but the interactive Zoning Bylaw Web Map on the BWG website shows the three parcels merged into 7 Church Street.
