I can now confidently conclude that REGENT Park is more livable and better developed than CITY PLACE
I live in Regent Park and I truly believe that it is the best neighborhood in Toronto. Living there is like living the suburban lifestyle in downtown Toronto. Plus it's diverse, inclusive and provide easy access to countless amenities.
 
I live in Regent Park and I truly believe that it is the best neighborhood in Toronto. Living there is like living the suburban lifestyle in downtown Toronto. Plus it's diverse, inclusive and provide easy access to countless amenities.
As your neighbour to the north I can attest that Regent Park is a remarkable transformation. When we moved to Cabbagetown in 1998 you’d never walk through Regent Park. The violence, shootings, drugs and gangs kept even food delivery guys and the post office out. Now I walk through there all the time, my kids played in the field and swam in the pool.
 
I live in Regent Park and I truly believe that it is the best neighborhood in Toronto. Living there is like living the suburban lifestyle in downtown Toronto. Plus it's diverse, inclusive and provide easy access to countless amenities.
Same sentiment (minus the suburban lifestyle...)

- Amazing people, neighbourhood organizations, community vibe.
- Multiple, sizeable green spaces.
- Best-in-city amenities (the obvious pool, rink, athletic grounds...);
- Access to 504/501/505/506 streetcar all within a short walk + bike lane connections + on-ramps to DVP/Gardiner...
- Oversized separation between towers, with decent albeit boxy design (biting my tongue and putting TCH Block 27 out of my mind)

“Former” reputation transformed into sidewalks filled with babies in strollers, millennial couples, joggers + foodies from all around the city carrying Le Beau bakery boxes...

Still missing more restaurants, more retail + the amazing amount of illegal parking addressed amongst other things.

Still 10 buildings and 10-15 years of development to go? Think it’ll be even more desirable in years to come.

The restaurants and retail will come. Business follows the money and the fact that there will be at least 2 banks in Regent park (RBC and Scotia) indicates that there is money in the neighborhood. And with the new condo developments that will be completing on River St in the next couple of years and the thousands of additional residents that will come with it, there will be lots of businesses that will want to set shop in Regent park

I went to the Housing Multitudes

display at the United Nations Centre and highly recommend it! Also noticed that the laneway to the north is almost finished and the ground level artist studios are occupied. Finally there is a Tim Horton’s moving into a retail place on the Dundas side as well as a cannabis shop. Finally, across the street the impending arrival of Liberty Pizza. So happy Regent Park is really maturing and getting the feel of a normal neighbourhood.
