I concur: The spire looks fantasticI feel like this project would look soooo much better and more complete with a spire, especially to offset its pretty underwhelming architecture.

Must admit, I don't normally like spires, but it works on this building.I feel like this project would look soooo much better and more complete with a spire, especially to offset its pretty underwhelming architecture.

Not, sure, starting road construction?
Are they wondering why a new BMO branch was built? Does anyone go to the bank more than like once a year at this point?
I like spires too but we actually have building CALLED "The Spire" which does not have one so they are clearly not looked on favourably around here! SEE: https://thespire.ca/I concur: The spire looks fantastic

I am old enough to remember when bank buildings were built as 'statements' and designed as stand-alone and significant buildings. The City is peppered with former bank buildings from this era. Then in the 1970s and 1980s the trend was to close most of these old branches and consolidate them into new and larger 'area branches'. In the early 2000s and 2010s and up to now, the banks are back to re-opening small branches like this one. No doubt the fashion will change again and we will see most of these closed and re-consolidated! I agree it is odd as most seem to be virtually empty, I doubt I have interacted with a teller for at least 10 years.Banks and phone stores… how do we have so many of them, and who is actually going in to them frequently enough!
I know some old people who do all their everyday banking at an actual bank because they don't trust online services or even phone services. I think the last time I was in a bank was over almost five years ago: to pick up a bank draft to put down a deposit on a condo. But yes, banks, and phone stores - not to forget the ubiquitous nail salons - kill retail areas.Banks and phone stores… how do we have so many of them, and who is actually going in to them frequently enough!
God no, I'm so sick of spires and they seem so pointless. Super happy there is no spire here.I feel like this project would look soooo much better and more complete with a spire, especially to offset its pretty underwhelming architecture.

Toronto has barely any spires… especially compared to most citiesGod no, I'm so sick of spires and they seem so pointless. Super happy there is no spire here.
It depends. Many different age groups tend to go to banks for financial services, advice and adjusting their financial goals/prospects.Banks and phone stores… how do we have so many of them, and who is actually going in to them frequently enough!
