These balconies are there to convince people they'll have outdoor space.

This balcony debate has been done to death in numerous threads. We use our balcony at least 7 months of the year, and we are on a high(ish) floor (30+). I have friends who regularly use their balconies on 50+ and 60+ floors.

I can't even imagine living in a condo without a balcony.

What? Balcony guards are way, way, way lower standard finish. On what possible scale would you suggest they're a higher standard? I've installed high end railings and low end railings, and they're pretty much all crap.

Pinnacle International has submitted revised plans for its Pinnacle One Yonge development in Downtown Toronto that would see phases 2 and 3 go up to 92 and 105 storeys. The changes, if approved, would make the development the tallest building in the country.

My quibble here is that it's not tallest at all measured by floor count. Rather a tall building that has one of the most floors packed into it.

More money for the developer that can charge a premium on more stacked units. Plus it meets more than its density objectives, unlike this complete waste of that space...

I was on the One Tower Wikipedia page, and it says it's on hold. It also doesn't say if the proposed increase was approved. The latest update was around 2020. I'm assuming it's still on hold.

We use our balcony all the time when it's nice out, and the toddler loves it. But I suspect we would put the space to better use if it was actually part of our apartment. Still, I do like having the outside option.

Still kind of crazy that Toronto has 2 towers good enough for top 15 tallest residential buildings in the world under construction. And only NYC and UAE will have taller residential buildings.

Couple of renderings I’ve haven’t noticed before from HPA, including a view to the west of the office component, the residential podium(s), and some interior atrium shots that look more recent than the database (if posted already somewhere, apologies).

Edited to add: I see that Northern Light posted a small partial look at the commercial view looking to the west months ago... he's almost always first in line of course;-).
