Want to make sure I got this correctly... The excavation taking place in the previous pics is for the 'Prestige' tower which is 'Tower 3' and which I've highlighted in the red box below??

Will the next phase be tower 1 which is the tallest building right on Yonge Street or will it be Tower 2 which is at Freeland and Lake Shore?

Yes phase one is the tower you have outlined in red phase 2 is the tallest tower along yonge.

By the way I don't believe Pinnacle will actually build those well designed towers based on all the crap they have put up around downtown.

Because they'll see the superbly designed towers when they look out their windows, which is a lot more often than they're looking at their own tower.

I think you have the wrong tower boxed in.. it's the north one close to gardner if am not mistaken..well the tower in the box you have there are still the star building east of that..

Nope, he's correct. First phase is the shortest of the three (South East corner), then Phase 2 is the tallest of the three and the final phase is the middle tower (North East corner).

someone posted here a few months ago that according to Pinnacle the tower 2 will be launched in the first half of 2019.

We must be close to seeing the first crane go up here, maybe this weekend? I'd imagine by the placement in the southwest corner that there may be 2 eventually.
