People seem to have forgotten the other plane crash in Philadelphia recently...

All American airlines/flights - it absolutely could be a pattern. And may very well have to do with the sudden cuts to personnel once Trump took office.

This could have been a maintenance issue. Videos surfacing online seem to indicate that the wheels on one of the wings did not deploy upon landing.

We're all going to have to wait for the TSB report. Not to sound like a pilot - cuz I'm not - but one interviewed on CTV said that the winds were within aircraft limits, and they were from 270* so landing at 230*, their relative crosswind bearing was much diminished. The one thing I did notice from a couple of the clips was there was little to no flare just before touchdown.

Absolutely no flare at all. He slammed that thing down like he was landing on the USS Nimitz! It's probably a result of more than one thing but I'd be curious to see the last corrosion report. That starboard wing, and not the gear, failed.

Clearly flaps and landing gear down. People want answers immediately, but like all of these accidents, we'll have to wait for the interim/final report.

Seems like he got his wings clipped. Today, it was no comment as this is under investigation. In the US we would know all details. So different in Canada. Maybe a good thing.

Could be the landing gear fail upon contact or one wheel that allow the wing to clip the ground and flip.. Wait tell the first report is issue or what the black box say.

Unless there is an immediate danger to the public, I think its prudent to not release info until they have finished the investigation

In the US we would not know all the details. Have "all the details" been released about the Washington crash? I know there has been a lot of opinion and speculation. Our investigative and accountability procedures up here are much less theatrical, and that is definitely a good thing.

Looks like the pilot didn’t flair their aircraft before touching down. The video of the rapid approach looks more like a F-18 about to violently trap on the USS Nimitz, rather than a CRJ attempting a smooth touch down.

I can't find in my archives the picture of the actual drawing the child supposedly made but this has got to be at least 25 years old. Apparently, based on what I remember, it was from a little girl on her first airplane ride in Australia:

Tim...how did you find the Jerry Yang photo? It does not seem to exist on the internet anywhere else? I am sure the investigation would want to see it.

Some of the parts of the CRJ were starting to be removed yesterday, but on FlightRadar24 it looks like the two runways are still closed, though now maybe with snow clearing vehicles on them.
