It's unclear what exactly will be completed by December 2026 from that post. Sounds like it's soil preparation and installation of various underground utilities, but doesn't seem like the actual QQ East extension will be done by then?

This is more likely to happen than other projects. They've already filled in part of the quay, the west side of the project is done, and Queen's Quay East will be extended. There will be some temporary treatment. It doesn't make sense to build the full project until Quayside is under construction, as there's nothing to access on the east side at the moment.

The floating pools are never going to happen, the bridge might be put off, but the rest is quite feasible.
 
If you all look close at the pics I uploaded as well, those short, fake, mooring rails along the dock wall stop well short of that corner where the bridge appears in the rendering. It makes me wonder if it was intentional.

So, maybe?

If it does happen, I suspect it might be easier to put the wave deck in first before installing that bridge.

First to pop up on the east side would be the new Keating Channel pedestrian bridge. I suspect the Parliament Slip bridge construction will follow as part of the goal for a continuous waterfront.

When the winning design was selected last year it was projected to be completed by 2026. Seems unlikely now but progress is certainly being made to the sites on either side of the bridge, nothing to stall out construction when it’s ready.

Possibly some more recent details in WT’s non-AODA-compliant slide decks. Here’s the latest we’ve heard thanks to some inquiries:

This might be true, except that the bridge is actually funded and the wave decks aren't.
 
Floating pools like in the tender should be along the entire waterfront, that is one way to bring people to the waterfront, especially after the summer we are having now. Hope it comes to reality with the way it's being shown.

I think you mean the render and as far as I know the floating pools are long gone from the project. Renderings are seldom reality, unfortunately.
 
Didn’t Montreal do something with floating pool/fake beach in Old Port? Unsure if that took a millennia.

I caught myself wondering about the pedestrian bridge here while under the commisioners bridge in Biidaasige. Because I remember the presentations for the pedestrian bridge, and I think the winner had spots underneath for nesting birds . Made me wonder if the red and yellow bridges did that as well.
