Adelaide and York already have streetcar tracks
Adelaide's tracks are not connect to York and has several spots that are in disrepair or sections that are missing between York and Yonge. York only has a single track running north. The shame of it is that the York connection was only done in the last 5 years they should have done the south bound track to Adelaide at that time.

there are already tracks on both church and Victoria so it's not a big deal - the tracks need to be installed on Adelaide and York.

Back to the Future.

I was kinda hoping they would close a larger stretch of queen that would cover both stations so they can build both of them fast at the same time, two birds with one stone.
this brings up a good point, whats going on with the university station then? no closures at all for that intersection? or probably detailed later?

There is a rough in streetcar station that would be converted at Queen Station. That’ll likely need a more extensive excavation than at Osgoode.
The other downtown stations aren’t directly underneath the roadway so they would need less street closures.

actualy from what i read, the old queen station is actually not going to be used as the actual station, but as a transfer concourse for a station below it

If Richmond and Adelaide remain as one-way streets, then having one-way streetcar tracks all the way to Spadina and Bathurst in the west, and Parliament in the east is doable.
Richmond Street West narrows west of Spadina, but could still be used using a single set of westbound streetcar tracks towards Bathurst Street.

Hopefully they can take advantage of the years that Yonge will be closed for the redo and do some work at the intersection.

maybe we can also get an integrated sidewalk and streetscape design that mirrors the stuff on Yonge.
