Friday, July 26. Several changes in the perimeter areas of the site. North of Queen Street the original sidewalk up Spadina has been reopened under the protective hoarding. A 'permanent' construction access gate has been set up at the north edge of the site on Bulwer Street. Utility work was also being done on Friday, which closed both traffic lanes on northbound Spadina at Queen, with all northbound vehicles being diverted onto the streetcar tracks.

South side of Queen Street, new 'permanent' (duration of the project) access gates have been set up at the west edge of the site on Queen Street, and close to the Queen intersection on Spadina.

September 3 - As noted by AnnetteMeetsJane above, it is very difficult to get a decent photo of the north site due to all the hoarding, and the actual excavation activities are taking place well set back from the entrance. Much excavation and truck movement is happening though.

On the south side, it looks like the site is still being prepared for the start of the major excavation activities. The main activity today appeared to be on the north retaining wall, with the ground around the wall being dug down, as seen in the photos below. Other than that, much of the previously on site equipment has now been removed.

Is it strange that they have built the concrete retaining wall in front of the gap in the perimeter that is supposed to be the gate which trucks use to exit the site? The section I am referring to is on Spadina, North (left) of the raised black construction office.

October 15: South west corner station excavation, along with additional core sample drilling on the Spadina Street southbound curb lane on both the north and south sides of Queen Street. Having only one southbound through plus right turn traffic lane at the Spadina and Queen intersection did a good number on the southbound Spadina traffic backing up north of Queen Street.

Has anyone posted an interior schematic of the station before? I cant seem to see anything on the forum page.

I know the station is really deep, some of the renderings have many escalators but the most recent one a few days ago just shows elevators. Is the new plan to address the depth issues just to use a bunch of elevators a-la Billy Bishop?

If i recall correctly, the north entrance on spadina has elevators only and south side has 4 maybe 5 escalators to get down to track level.

I confidently predict that the station will overwhelm with stark, sterile white walls everywhere in sight.

That would make sense, I looked over the previous images and I found renderings with both escalators as well as renderings with just elevators, so it would make sense they are from different entrances.

This is a public works project brought to you by government who argued that house plants at City Hall was a waste expenditure. Where you expecting something classy here? /s
