Are the heritage walls still sitting on Simcoe there? Last I checked a few weeks ago they were still sitting there yet to be moved off-site

They are. The heritage walls look exactly as they did in @kotsy's September 25 photo above.

They are not moving it off site, the east facing wall will live just south on Simcoe st for the entirety of construction. And the north facing wall is reinforced and protected in place.

Keeping as much as possible is great, but not always possible. I don't know if more could have been done here, but I'd rather this than nothing.

Unfortunately that's what goes as "preservation" in this province in 95% of cases. It's sad, but most politicians arent really serious about historical preservation.

While I'm no fan of these quasi preservation efforts, they did do a fairly decent total rebuild on the North West corner of Mount Pleasant/Eglinton for the LRT. I'll be holding my breath here...
