Spring 2023 completion? In Toronto??

I beg to differ, after seeing what we're seeing with the KQQR intersection mess, this thing probably wont be completed until at the earliest, early 2024 in my books.

This is only one stage of the overall construction. Watermain replacement east of York, new track west of York. Next year, the track on York and on Adelaide east to Victoria will be done as a Metrolinx project. At KQQR there was a big problem because of the street redesign which changed the location of utilities and poles. It turned out that things underground were not where they were supposed to be requiring a redesign. There was much foot dragging by Toronto Hydro. The start of this stage of the Adelaide work was delayed by utility location work to avoid this problem.

A variety of engineers and utility-related activity on Queen W. immediately W of the Spadina at night multiple nights last week.
I spoke to one of the engineers one night and he confirmed that it is all Ontario line related. Apparently they are doing survey work and it will be a year until there are shovels in the ground.

October 26, 2022 Metrolinx Ontario Line - Project Update Dear Client, The province of Ontario and Metrolinx announced the construction of the Ontario line, which will bring much needed transit solutions to the City of Toronto. This expansive transit initiative is expected to take several years to complete and as described on the Metrolinx website, there will be significant construction along Queen Street and James Street. CF Toronto Eaton Centre's Property Management team regularly meets with Metrolinx and will provide updates regarding building operational impacts throughout the project as they become available. Work set to begin in late October 2022 affecting access to Queen Street and James Street is delayed. Once the new start time is finalized this information will be communicated to clients. Making the 503 KINGSTON ROAD operate during all periods (except overnight) makes sense. With diversions for the Ontario Line on Queen Street, running the 503 on Kingston Road, Queen Street East, and King Street would be bypass the construction.

We will have FOUR complex transfer interchange stations on the Ontario Line. Osgoode, Queen, Page, and Science Centre Stations with TTC connections. Exhibition and East Harbour Stations with the GO Trains connections (though I might add Gerrard Station to that list).

Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx have awarded a fixed-price contract to Ontario Transit Group for $6.1B ($5.6B for capital costs and $0.5B for financing and transaction costs) to design, build and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

Exciting. Major construction starts in the spring - this is the largest single contract for the OL I believe. Very, very good news. It's almost surreal to see the line finally starting after so many decades of discussion. This line has literally been on maps more or less in it's current form since the 1960's.

Understood, but it can lead to a whole slew of complaints and challenges. Perhaps it's different for condo or residential construction but if the spirit of the renders on those are not followed they are subject to challenges by residents

PSD is probably a requirement in the bid document - as to the renderings, this is a design build project so don't take it as a representation for much at this stage.
