I wish they'd flick the switch on all those trees lining Regent Park Blvd. The lights were hung about a week ago. The lit trees look great on all the neighbouring streets - adds a lovely cohesiveness to the 'hood.

One of the retail units - still all bare concrete on the inside - has a letter-sized paper sign in the window with the address and the initialism "GBC". George Brown College? Gourmet Burger Company?

yes - george brown. confirmed.

Yes it's disappointing...unique Ma and Pa shops would have been the better choice. But Wendy's, Subway and Yogen Fruz are better than a dry cleaner, nail salon and a bank. Still tons of up-and-coming commercial space in Phases 2-5, not to mention peripheral sites such as 77 River St, 48 Power St. etc.

The Regent Park Blvd is just begging for some more intense usage. It'd be a perfect space for neighbourhood public events that spans all the way from the plaza in the park all the way to the field behind Nelson Mandela PS.

The building has held up reasonably well through the years since its completion. Better than some other projects in the city that I've seen of comparable building age or even less years of occupancy. There's a good level of consistency in interior finishes among Daniels buildings that I've noticed.
