Yes, I agree. Developers use different balcony patterns and cladding to differentiate their tower from its neighbours, but for some reasons ignore the most obvious trick: use a completely different colour (not variations of grey, black or white with blue/green/dark glass walls).
 
...thankfully, these are not pointless spires cheezing the CTBUH standings.
