I can tell you that purchasers have heard very little as they hold our rather significant deposits. Hopefully we will hear something in the coming months, but personally, in this market, I would gladly take my deposit back and call it a day.

They call themselves the "New Stewards" of one Bloor West.
So they're like foster parents, they read the manual.
Why don't they just build it as high as they can, and call it "The Tridel".
They saved the project from collapsing, and "went beyond the architecture" like the founder always envisioned?
[I was adopted as a child, so I know how it feels to be the only one.]

The condo portion is partially sold off; Tridel, for all intents and purposes is working on behalf of the receiver to minimize the losses here.
A purchase of all the un-leased, and un-sold inventory here would be very high risk, and the receiver would have to believe that this produced the greatest value for creditors.
It doesn't really make sense.
They are, they managing the completion of the project, and the go-forward marketing and leasing of same.
Because there is no evidence they could cover the cost of construction and/or sales in so doing.
Because that would hurt sales.

"Amidst drama surrounding The One development in downtown Toronto, receivership proceedings over a luxury condo project at 128 Hazelton Avenue in Yorkville have come to a head. According to court filings from KSV Advisory, Constantine first made their plea for receivership on February 22, with Mizrahi (128 Hazelton) Inc. and Mizrahi 128 Hazelton Retail Inc. named as the respondents, and Sam Mizrahi identified as the principal of both.
“CEI has lost confidence in Mizrahi and the Mizrahi Group’s ability to fulfill their financial obligations, past and ongoing,” Constantine’s April 26 affidavit explained, also citing a $47M debt and noting that numerous demands for payment have already been made. “The development of the Hazelton Project, a luxury condominium development in the heart of Yorkville, is at a standstill because of the lack of funding and the breakdown in the relationship between CEI and Mizrahi, to the detriment of stakeholders, including other lenders, and the occupants of the Hazelton Project.”
That same document also alleged that, “based on Mizrahi’s most recently delivered budget, the cost of the Hazelton Project will exceed Mizrahi’s initial budget by over $50M, and the estimated completion date is more than five years behind schedule based on Mizrahi’s current estimates. Additional funding is necessary to complete the Hazelton Project and the only viable lender is CEI. It is certainly not Mizrahi or the Mizrahi Group.”

Photos taken today, Friday (May 23). Not a lot of movement on the tower since I posted a week ago, one of the Rail Climbing Systems (RCSs) is up a floor, not much progress otherwise visibly apparent. Up at the top, it looks like the core is done - or is it? Maybe at 296m up there, not sure. The blue forms at the top seem to be at level 85 or so, with the steel beams for the top starting to be placed, but that was apparent a week or two ago. The blue forms doing the corners are where they were last week as well, looking like they are doing the corners for the 4th mechanical level at the 77th floor (not the 75th as I said last week). In a few weeks we'll presumably see them shift up as the last hanger section gets installed.
The north RCS is the sole one to have moved up since last week, joining the east one at installing the skin on the 60th level. The west RCS is at 59 still, and the south sorta-RCS is a bit below that. And a little bit more of the skin has been installed on level 60 on the south face. And speaking of the skin, they've not installed the skin for the area behind the crane for the third mega-section (i.e., between the 2nd and 3rd mechanical levels). This is in contrast to the second mega-section which has all that skin installed. I checked some older photos and when the second mega-section had the skin added, the area behind the crane was installed concurrently.
Decided to mix it up with some new or rarely seen vantage points, as there was little progress so a lot of shots would have been a repeat of last week's. Though, I still have some of the "classic" views posted again... So... starting with the view up Yonge Street, at Dundas, then from Carlton/College (yeah, kinda the same...). Then shots from Charles and Yonge, one showing the lack of skin behind the crane on the third mega-section in contrast to the second one, another showing some of that new skin on level 60 of the south face. The view from the alley/parking area behind Balmuto, up the crane. Then the view on Cumberland east of Bay including a closer shot showing the north and west RCSs, the north one now installing floor 60's skin. The "classic" view from the NE corner of Yonge and Bloor, followed by a view straight up towards the RCSs, showing some open windows. Next, some shots from UofT - all on Harbord, the first over Robarts Library, then two from just west of St. George. And final shots from Bloor Street West: from east of Spadina Road, then from Russett, a block west of Dufferin.
