The townhouses here, called Markham GOLD Phase 1, are progressing well. https://www.instagram.com/p/COf3ejPjj3e/. The second phase, with the condos, should be launching soon according to their website. https://www.sunnycommunities.com/communities
On a sadder note, earlier this year, Markham Council supported the request to demolish the William Clarry House, built c. 1855, which was a designated heritage property. Due to constant changes of ownership, the house was not attended to and slowly deteriorated to the point where it was deemed "not feasible to restore". The area will be turned into a park, and a plaque will be placed to remember the building. Here is the document is anybody is interested to learn more about the house. Unfortunately this happens a lot in Markham, where developers and landowners refuse to take care of heritage houses, and then are charged very little when damage happens to it and it ultimately has to be torn down. I can name 5 or more heritage properties in Markham that this has happened to due to neglect of the owners.
