Toronto Macdonald Block Reconstruction | ?m | ?s | Infrastructure ON | WZMH

Out of the whole complex, Whitney Block is probably the one that needs a touch of the most TLC (from a cosmetic point of view). The interior is so ancient, it really reminds you of 1960's/70's.

Some points of the underground connection to Queen's Park station should also be updated, because in some points it feels like you're walking inside a janitor's closet.

May 2, 2020 - scaffolding has nearly fully engulfed Macdonald block.

Silly question: I don't suppose this exercise is all about cleaning off the accumulated pigeon poop this time? o . O

HELL NO! These are some of the finest 60s/70s office blocks left in the country. Please tell me this is being restored instead of destroyed? The treatment of this city's important historic buildings is nothing short of scandalous.... appalling. Bit by bit, this current generation is destroying our architectural layering.

I suppose 50 years from now people will not see the value in CIBC Square and replace the entire exterior with concrete, plastic, or whatever material is trendy at the time.
