I really hope East Harbour GO happens sooner than later, will really improve access to the area!

It won't be sooner; the entire station (not including GO tracks themselves) will likely be part of the Ontario Line project which would give it a target date closer to 2030.

The integration expected would be clumsy to implement as 2 separate tenders and the GO electrification tender in general has not been expected to included station modifications (except as required for clearance/grounding purposes).

A report to the Dec 1st meeting of Infrastructure and Environment Ctte recommends a project delivery agreement for the construction phase of the Lake Shore East do-over from the River to Carlaw.

The Harbour Lead is still there........

And it appears we could see construction set to start in July 2021!

I remain confused (again?) as to why they keep talking about the Harbour Lead Rail Line. From everything I hear elsewhere, Ports Toronto and CreateTO are in final stages of abandoning it (and it is now blocked off on east side of Don River.) Frankly, I would like to keep it operational (in the median as is proposed) but I think 'someone' needs to decide if it will actually exist and if it won't then update these plans and schedules to remove it.

I spoke w/City staff this morning.

Here is what I learned.

A cost-benefit analysis on whether to keep the Habour Lead is currently under way.

It will report back shortly.

If the verdict is to remove it, that decision will need to be made by February, and the change in scope can be accommodated without altering the timeline.

It's likely, though from what I can discern there isn't a final decision; that if the Harbour Lead is removed the design will stay substantially the same, but the portion of the median occupied by track will become landscaped median.

If the decision is made to keep the line, then the design will be built as is; and the matter of reconnecting the track via Leslie will be a separate project.
