Toronto Love Park | 3m | 1s | City of Toronto | CCxA

Does anyone know when the purple wisteria flowers will start appearing from the time of planting? Will they make an appearance next spring?
Looks like they've planted white wisteria, so no purple here. It's also likely we won't see flowers for a while, it can take several years after planting for them to flower. The plant itself grows quite rapidly though, so I imagine it will start to fill in nicely by the end of summer.

edit: @Northern Light beat me to it.

i really think they should put a fountain in there. ive noticed the park is pretty sparsely populated a lot of the time. people love fountains

Only catering to the preferences of 1 group of people is rarely a good idea. People who like ponds are to go where?

Ponds only really exist in this city on very rainy days... >.<

- A pond, that you can find every day of the year, tucked just behind the Ontario Science Centre:

We should do that in the lake proper - a la Jet d'Eau in Geneva. Maybe directly along the Foot of Yonge. I am sure PortsTO or whatever will have a coronary over these kinds of suggestions.

No no, we need full on Fountains of Bellagio. I'm talking thousands of individually lit fountains dancing to music across the entire harbour. Who needs the island ferry or the airport anyway?

Sidenote here, if Toronto had won the Olympic bid for 2008, we may have actually seen this kind of thing in what is now the new outlet of the Don, and had rowing in the shipping channel.

The Centennial Fountain in Peterborough was inspired by the original in Geneva.
