You can see in the second photo that they've installed a new signalized intersection at the vehicular entrance to the site, which is a welcome development in the car sewer that is this stretch of Dupont.

The traffic light is somehow still not operational, and the ground around the utility poles still all torn up. Going on maybe a year.

No idea why that's taking so long; and I can't find a report with the project manager listed; it's an odd install, Riocan appears to be responsible for the lighting install, and this one entirely bypassed the normal approval report with warrants going before Council; it was approved on a letter from then Cllr. Layton with no staff report attached.
Weird.
Maybe put in a query w/the councillor's office and/or 311. It's listed as traffic light installation - 740 Dupont in Council Approval.

Looking really nice! We're two years in on these, so they made it 2 winters (21-22, and 22-23) they're out of the high danger zone now.
The shrubbery (Yew) in your pics doing really well too, not just the trees.
Really shows the value of good planting conditions and irrigation for those 1st 2 years as well.

The lights were actually functional for a few days (maybe a week) shortly after the building was completed, but they've been covered back up ever since...

I have received information on the above traffic lights.
Riocan encountered issues w/pole and equipment spacing during construction and are working to resolve those issues w/Transportation, and their own people.
The project and its timing remain entirely in Riocan's hands.

Another 5 months later and the traffic lights are still down. It's become a running joke in the area. What's not a joke are the people dodging cars as they dash across the street to the LCBO. They need to get these lights up and running. There's much distance between the lights at Christie and the lights at Shaw along the Dupont Expressway.
