looks as though they might start working on the bridge soon.
the orange on the railing could mean there coming down soon.

Any sign of the link between Bremner Blvd and Bathurst opening yet? According to Adam Vaughn's office about 6 weeks ago it was going to happen "soon". (See Post #376 above.)

The only signs of activity to date have been one section of the railing on the east side of Bathurst, on the south side of where Bremner is to connect to Bathurst having been removed and replaced with a temporary barrier, and the railing posts along Bathurst from the removed section to the north side of where Bremner is to connect to Bathurst being marked with X's in red paint - presumably identifying the sections for future removal.

Westbound will be opened in the next few weeks

Thanks everyone for the consistent photo updates! The green roof has been installed on the library and it really adds another dimension to this great little building. And I am looking forward to the opening of the Bremner/Bathurst intersection both as a pedestrian and a driver. Finally I think that the dramatic increase in activity on Bremner Boulevard as a whole will further animate CityPlace and finally dispel any armchair musings that it is a St. Jamestown-in-training. If only I had one of those work/live units facing Toronto's newest arterial!

By the way, it's not Bremner and Bathurst, it's Fort York and Bathurst -- Fort York Blvd runs between Lake Shore Blvd. and Spadina; Bremner starts on the east side of Spadina.

I don't know why they just don't change it all to Fort York Blvd. It's just confusing for many people, especially tourists.

Agreed. I bet it would lead to a few more tourist visits to the fort as well, if out-of-towners at the aquarium/CN Tower/sporting events realized it was just down the street.

Easier said than done: people really don't like having their address changed. That said, Fort York Boulevard certainly sounds better, and yes, would be good for tourism.

I would go with Bremner, simply because more people know it. It is closer to the center of the city so naturally more people know about it. Factor in significant places with Bremner addresses like the Rogers Centre, CN Tower and the Aquarium, as well as the Air Canada Centre - which uses a Bay Street address but has one of its main entrances on Bremner- and the choice seems clearer. In addition, the ACC's giant video display functions as Bremner's eastern terminating vista. Bremner is more significant from an urban perspective, and Fort York Boulevard makes more sense historically - but that is why we have two names for this road!!
