By the looks of things, glazing going into the PPUDO finally. They have moved all fences up to the edge of the sidewalk to Kipling station to allow grading in that area, especially for the plaza from the PPUDO.

With any luck the bus terminal at Islington might just not collapse into itself after all!

With any luck the bus terminal at Islington might just not collapse into itself after all!
With the current Mississauga Lease set to expired December 31 and Mississauga getting control of the Hub early December, it very possible the new Hub will be place into service between Christmas and New Year assuming all elevators are working. Even though the lease expired Dec 31, TTC may allow Mississauga buses there on Jan 1st and start service at the Hub on Jan 2nd.

The big issues will be is having the PPUDO completed with a working elevator and a finish plaza area since this the easy option to have accessibility riders having access to both terminals on opening day. This is an EllisDon and Metrolinx problem.

Parking for TTC parking will most likely be a 2 phase thing with the Kiss & Ride area and the PPUDO being phase 1. Phase 2 sometime in 2021.

Within a week or 2 of Mississauga leaving Islington, TTC will move all their buses to the south end platform that is not on top the concourse. This will allow TTC to call for a demolition permit, a contractor to tear the terminal roof down and fill in the stairwells.

How long the retail remains in place is unknown, but they will vacate the area once the existing terminal and parking lot gets redevelop for affordably housing along with a new bus terminal.

The shoring for the PPUDO has been removed. The new Kiss & Ride area waiting for either concrete or Asphalt. Retaining wall in place on the north side with back filling taking place. Curbs have been pour for the ramp to TTC lot from Dundas St.

Will say that the elevator will not be ready on opening day by the looks of things and maybe the plaza from it to TTC station.

Still a lot of work for TTC parking lot.

Comment on miWay move is in miWay service thread.

Photos to follow.

Crews were busy paving and stripping the new Kiss and Ride lot today, The road to Dundas is also pave, but not strip.

Looks like part of this area is now for parking as well, especially to the west. Taxi cab will be place along the edge is a row.

With this push for paving and stripping, is TTC planning on having this lot open within in the next week or 2?? The PPUDO building not close to been ready anytime soon as well the rest of the plaza area needs concrete curb and something walk on to get to/from TTC station.

The rest of the area still under construction and can't see mix traffic using the new Kiss & Ride with construction taking place. Maybe another show and tell by Metrolinx.

Hang on, what is that massive surface parking lot going to be used for?

It's replacing the one that was there before.

It should be noted that it's also smaller than the older one due to the space taken up by the new bus terminal.

Instead of the parking lot, they could have paved a bikeway along the Etobicoke Hydro corridor, and installed bike garages at Kipling as part of the project.

With lots of low density housing around the corridor, it could incentivize people to bike to the station rather than drive or take the bus.

Because of the hydro nothing will ever be built here.

why do you keep posting this? Its wrong.

We literally have bike paths crossing almost every hydro corridor in the city right now.

We are investing a huge project into the Gatineau hydro corridor with the Meadoway

The hydro corridors can and have been utilized for multi use trails. Please get your facts straight.
