It is going to be one of my favorite areas to follow.
People say that a Queensway LRT won't be needed, but I think they might change their mind as soon as we start seeing Humber Bay level density being built along the entire corridor.

This is a good distance from The Queensway. Depending upon the speed of all the development along Dundas, the question here will be when does the Bloor-Danforth line get extended west again, even with the new MiWay/GO Bus terminal coming to Kipling station.

Yes, I meant Bloor-Danforth extension. But that being said, the Queensway will be seeing similar development as this corridor as well! Certainly interesting times for South Etobicoke.

I believe council directed staff to look at a westerly extension recently. We will probably get a fresh look at the possiblity of the extension soon, the first one since the early 2000's when the TTC actually had an EA done for a Sherway extension. Extending the subway to Sherway would be a "quick" project in terms of subways, and would probably be relatively cheap. might be desirable, and I have a feeling it would be fairly busy. You probably wouldn't have to tunnel it at all other than under the 427.
Actually, there would be a fair bit of tunnelling. There is already a planned alignment which is being protected from any redevelopment. (The whole big box area north of Sherway and Sherway's parking lots are being studied for total redevelopment as a new mixed-use residential/commercial area. In the meantime, any proposals along the path of the subway must not prevent the possible extension from being built.)
The recent northwest expansion of Sherway Gardens was designed to bring the mall out towards where the station would be at the southeast corner of The Queensway and The West Mall.
