Just witnessed something extremely scary as I biked down Richmond five or ten minutes ago. I was just approaching the site from Bathurst when I noticed the crane's payload dropping. I guess a cable snapped, because it went into free-fall and crashed down (from around 10-15 storeys, I'd guess) onto the site with a huge cloud of dust. Lots of workers around, though nobody directly underneath, thankfully. Ministry of labour is probably on the way already...

This seems to be one of the few examples where the final design, and hopefully product, surpasses the original renders. Very happy they went with the red brick which contrasts wonderfully with the smooth polished finish of the glass. Extraordinary how rounded glass corners elevate the aesthetic appeal too.

Great pictures, fugly fugly utility poles. If you never told me it was Toronto, I would have guessed some 3rd world country.
