I feel sorry for the people that bought east-facing condos at Karma. They'll be looking straight into Candrel's new monster when it's built.

There are no units that face only east. Units on the east side all have north or south windows too.

There is one tiny unit on each floor of the lower half of Karma which faces west and into the library condos wall. Anyone who bought those suites bought them as investor rental units.

There is more separation on the east side, and there will be windows on YC Condos, so something nicer to look at than the wall on the west side.

I wonder if those west facing units will even get any direct sunlight. It doesn't look like there's all that much separation between the two buildings. And with the two buildings so close together I'd imagine there'll be a lot of wind and noise in that space. It almost would've been nicer if they'd just built to the property line and given people the extra square footage

well, at least they will be used to being so close to each other as these will both be constructed in such a close time span. I feel worse for people who have a perfect view for a decade and then lose it. At least these folks wont know what they are missing

Like I just said, no-one facing east is losing their view. All east facing suites also face either north or south.

Wow:eek: this is gone, so is the Worlds Biggest Book store, Stollerys and adjacent lands are going, the 501 Yonge street block is about to go, etc. etc. etc.
Dont think there's a place on earth going through this much transformation (demolition/construction).....hopefully-it's-all-good?

Interesting factoid - I worked at that RBC branch many moons ago - that vault door actually pre-dates the building itself. It was re-used from another branch (perhaps the old Royal Bank Branch that existed on the southern portion of that site), and is from around the turn of the 20th century - the building they're tearing down is from the 30s or 40s, I believe.

I hope they preserve it, somehow.
