That's a great idea but I'd like to see it in a park setting. Imagine how it would look at night with all the signs lit up.

Recent Activity at 1331 Yonge

I overlook the former CHUM building and walk by often. Lots of activity and clean up going on in and around the building the past two weeks. Anyone heard anything about this?

Kinda drab, even if urbanistically consistent w/its N neighbour. Needs a little zip worthy of Allan Waters...

Not any better than what's there already.

Three levels of below-grade parking seems like overkill. How many spaces would an 11-storey condo tower need?

it seems to be a mix for 2/3 residential and 1/3 visitor-commercial purposes as there is retail component on the main level.

from the city staff report:
Proposal
The applicant proposes the redevelopment of the lands to permit a 13-storey mixed-use
commercial/residential condominium containing 214 units with 4 retail units at grade
along Yonge Street. The applicant proposes a total of 184 vehicular parking spaces
including 129 residential, 13 visitor and 40 surplus spaces on 3 levels below grade, as
well as, 2 spaces located at the rear of the site for short term pick up and drop off
purposes. Also proposed are 173 bicycle parking spaces including 150 spaces for
residents, 17 spaces for visitor residential, 1 space for retail, and 5 spaces for visitor
retail.

Since when is Yonge a tiny 2 lane street at that point? hahah, these renders.

... or are they seriously considering expanding the sidewalk there?!

On Tuesday May 14 at 9:30am Toronto and East York Community Council will be debating a development proposal for 1331 Yonge Street.
