There are also these images of the grand staircase area, starting off with the overall site and then a view up the original staircase from Islington Avenue:

This is going to be a major improvement for the entire community: there have got to be over a thousand people who use these stairs every day, an cutting down on the oppressive concrete feel of Islington between the two bridges is a huge bonus to everyone there.

Geez, I hardly recognize any difference between this new building and the those 70s apaartment slabs
Must be rental !

It amused me today while shooting the site how long it taken to get these new stair built that they could be done months ago and not holding up the missing shoring area.

With the new retaining wall going up next to the road and bridge, the footing have been built for the stairs, it will be a month or so before the old one can be close. It will start narrow at the top and flair out at the street sidewalk. the south area will be an embankment sloping up to the current stair well.

Unless I am missing something, this is a none accessibly area and will require a long trip to get to same location of a normal walker for them. That is not acceptable.

I found the west side of the 2nd tower further back from the property line than I thought it would be. The 2' crash wall is right up to the west property line.

With glazing being install along with the precast panel, not impress by the looks so far. This should fit in with the rest of the ho hum buildings in the area.

Most of the first 3 story townhouse at street edge is in place.

Have photos, but real backup trying to get to the ones before these and have no idea when at this time.

Tridel needs up their standards and the only good one they have at this time from what I have seen to date, is 10 York.

Sept 01
Looks like next week, people who currently use the stairs off Islington will be using a new stair tower to the north so the current stair and walkway can be close to start work on the 3rd tower.

This is real dumb since the base of the new stairs are pour and waiting the building of the the stair and this tower is on them.

All the foundation wall is now layout for shoring and was done by moving the walkway to the stair to different route while it was being done. Not a square hole the be dug.

Have no idea when I will have today shots on line, as I still have stuff going back to Aug 19 and over 2,000 shots to be done, other than these ones.
