NOAC is issued so permits can move forward regardless of the Minor Variance outcome. Below is a breakdown of the current permit set (the most recent issuance was the conditional permit for foundation issued on May 28th)

Installation of the tower crane for the Hyatt House Downtown is now underway. After the morning road closure on Cameron Street, the crane set up crew was all standing around in the early afternoon waiting for the mobile crane and associated trucks to arrive. Passing by later, around 1:30, still no mobile crane, but one truck carrying some tower crane components had arrived. Later in the afternoon, around 5:30 (when the photo below was taken), the mobile crane had arrived and was set up for operation (positioned and stabilizer arms deployed and leveled) and the tower crane components were being off-loaded from the truck and staged onto the road.

Given the pace so far - one can see why the entire three days for a tower crane installation may be needed.

I didn't realize a photo of the completed crane wasn't in this thread. It dominates the area, so that shows that this'll be a project with a big impact here. (dominates is too strong a word, but, thats the best I can come with for this part of Spadina.
