Toronto House of Assembly | 61.85m | 17s | Marlin Spring | Graziani + Corazza

Looks like this is going to be called "House of Assembly"?

Should be named "Houses of Horror" because there's no doubt Marlin Spring and G+C will disappoint yet again with another drab development when the proposal is revealed.

That name is wretched. I guess they're trying to confer some kind of noble formality or austere dignity to the project... or something. It sounds drearily functional. A fail for the marketing team. Looks not bad though!

That area has some interesting industrial buildings that attracts artists and then there's that new gallery. Now they want to plop this in there? It may be better than the dreck that's littered our city the last 20 years but it's still bland and pedestrian.

That this type of design is greeted with praise hammers home how far Toronto still has to go. Some times it feels like Torontonains have never been exposed to architecture before; only developments. One shouldn't have to post architectural reminders from other parts of the world but maybe we do? Take inspiration from River City if we must.

Great to have early confirmation that the podium will be atrocious. Wouldnt expect anything less from the horror show combo of Marlin Spring and G+C
