Toronto Hilton Renovation

Hope they do something with the main entrance - which looks rather shabby (at least from outside)!

Yup. I’ve never once felt compelled to go inside and I’ve been walking by it for 20 years.

The last reno respected the building's brutalism, unlike its nearby counterpart The Sheraton which is now a hatchet job. I'd hope to see that maintained at least.

But at least w/the Sheraton Centre, they left well enough alone with the exterior. (NB: for the sake of argument, I don't count the porte cochere as "exterior".)

And of course, a trip up and down the Hilton's glass elevator (at the narrow University end) is one of those classic "secret Toronto experiences"...

The Ruth's Chris Steak House in it just got a refresh, and yup @adma, that elevator's always fun, its only problem being that you cannot call it directly and may have to wait through three of the five elevators—inside ones—arriving as you wait for an external one to answer the call button!
