Dear god, that is the blandest name for a project ever. “Galleria” is even the blandest name for a MALL, ever. Is it in Jersey City? Is it in Burnaby? Who knows! What you do know is you’re in store for some mediocre shopping.
There's two malls named Galleria Shopping Centre in Australia: one in Perth, Western Australia and another in Melbourne, Victoria.

Plenty of other Gallerias as well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galleria_Mall

It's perhaps a smidgen less specific than "Square One" or "Eaton Centre," but let's face it - mall names tend to be bland.

Shari Kasman | Memories of Galleria Mall

May 3–5
Geary Lane
360 Geary Ave

Hours: Fri 12pm–9pm
Sat 11am–5pm
Sun 12pm–4pm

The Galleria Mall has maintained its retro aesthetic since opening in 1972 as a venue for shopping, socializing, and entertainment. Recently, much of the mall’s contents were removed in preparation for a new mixed-use development. In this exhibition, Kasman captures the spirit of the mall with a collection of photographs from her book, Galleria: The Mall That Time Forgot. The images evoke memories of the Galleria’s recent past and serve as a reminder of the crucial role the mall has played in its community.

On the west side of the mall, facing the Dupont St jog:

The public update planned for this past Monday was canceled because of changes in legislation. We'll see how that influences the project.
In the meantime, it looks like they are building the future, new west wall of the mall in the preparation for the demolition of the west half:

Some disassembly type work is happening to that small 1-storey furniture building with parking frontage, on the NE corner of Dufferin & Dupont. It doesn't look like a full demolition or at least not yet when I passed by quickly today.

Don't believe there's anything substantial proposed for that. But I wonder if that could a potential sales office and showroom for Freed's Galleria redevelopment.

The building permit application for 1152 Dupont Street show a Proposal for interior alteration and addition to existing retail building in order to convert it to showroom. It might be for a sales centre, as I believe the west side of the mall where the Reimagine Gallery currently is will be demolished soon. There's also a sign permit for the mall - work has started on these with holes in the ground made this week: To erect and display two static non-illuminated ground sign. **GALLERIA ON THE PARK**; as well as for Interior Alterations: Planet Fitness Interior alteration for relocated A2 occupancy within Galleria Mall, including associated Mechanical and plumbing work.

As suggested by @AlbertC it looks like the northeast corner of Dufferin and Dupont is to become the sales centre for this development - today:

The massive redevelopment of Galleria Mall is poised to begin

Kate McGillivray · CBC News · Posted: Sep 08, 2019 4:00 AM ET

"We are now zoned and ready to go, fully designed," said Drov Duchovny, vice president of marketing, sales and asset management with ELAD Canada, the developer.

"We can start sales, and then once we hit financing thresholds, we can start construction," he said.

Those initial sales start next month, with Duchovny expecting construction to begin by next summer and take about four years.

By the time the entire project is complete, in about 10 years, the low-slung mall will be razed and replaced with eight mixed-use towers containing almost 3000 condos as well as office and retail space.

Duchovny says ELAD has worked up a plan to make things easier for neighbours bracing for a decade of noise and dust: keeping the mall and the current community centre open until their replacements are ready.

"The mall will never be closed for good. We are creating a temporary mall… where we are moving all the tenants who are remaining," he said.

2 decades of discussion
That means anchor tenants like FreshCo and Rexall will remain open in a section of the original mall for another five to seven years before making the jump to the new commercial space.

Likewise, the existing Wallace-Emerson Community Centre will remain open until the new centre, set to be double in size, is ready to open — likely in 2023 or 2024.
