Shadowing on St. Michael's would only be early-day from the east, and on the Cathedral it would more likely come from Jazz than from Fleur I think.

With regards to no crane, how do they raise fly forms from one level to the next without one?

Speaking of helicopters. I saw a large lifting helicopter (S-58T) doing circles around it a few days ago. I wonder if they are planning some lifts that way. Way faster I imagine than brining in a crane.

The white columns along the podium are curious. It's like the conversation went something like this:

"So Mr. Clewes, do you want take inspiration from the TD Centre for this project or from First Canadian Place?"
"Yes."

The columns aren't so much white as they are limestone, best seen in this image by @skycandy from the previous page:

…so not exactly First Canadian Place, but definitely mid-century Canadian bank.

I was assuming the buff-coloured stone was a nod to Mies' frequent use of travertine.

Yeah it looks almost exactly the same colour as the stone in the lobbies of the TD towers.

I've only seen it in pictures, but the vertical lines clad in a light-coloured stone reminded me of First Canadian Place's podium along King Street West facing the TD Centre.

Yeah, in-person the limestone here reads much less white and much more limestone-y, if that makes sense (a bit of beige-and-gray-ish but not in, like, a bad, taupe-y way). Basically it doesn't really look white IRL.

I love that limestone, it looks so soft, and balances well with the black cladding. Those two materials don't need to be complete opposites, if that makes sense?
