Here's the Application sign on the St. Clair site fence. The brown section of the building facade appears to try to evoke the part of Hungarian House that stuck out, the entrance way.

Overall it seems like a decent development that's good for the street and area. Good to see ground level retail. commercial space and a consistent height that is consistent with other buildings being developed along the same area.

gee wiz, this st clair disaster really is horrible isn't it? St. Clair is quickly on its way to detriot because of those darn streetcar lanes.

I've been looking through Committee of Adjustment decisions from earlier this year, and was surprised to see that this project was approved at the June 10th hearing of the CofA… so essentially the committee agreed that what was being asked for here only amounted to minor variances from the zoning bylaw, so no trip to Council was necessary.

It's very cool when the current as-of-right zoning isn't far off from what the developer proposes. We know that this doesn't happen very often with 90% of development projects.

Project is starting.
Not yet it isn't. Presentation centre closed but cars are still using the lot, and no hoarding has been erected

I wonder who's going to end up with this site now? With Nest across the street and the Main & Main development a block East on Alberta is there going to be enough demand for this in the near term?

The project is rumoured to be for sale as Main and Main cant get their partners UrbanCorp to agree to proper timelines. Now with Urbancorp having bigger fish to fry, I wonder who will pick it up. What a mess...
